A
guide to interesting homes and commercial buildings. |
This massive home is located on the top of Pacific Heights hill. It has this winding
driveway, actually a private road, that is absolutely unprecedented for
the area. The home is afforded a lot of light since the space next to the house
has not
only
the
driveway, but a public sidewalk you can see in the far left
of this picture. Inside the home you can see some shoji screens, and the
skylight for the top floor is covered in the ceiling with a Japanese paper
and wood shade. The kitchen, also visible from the sidewalk looks as if it
may have been redone. I would guess the home was built in the 1950-60s.
The lot size is huge, the retaining wall for the driveway near the house is
something you would see in a freeway - this house looms over you and is quite
impressive in real life.
