A
guide to interesting homes and commercial buildings. |
This particular style has an entire street to itself. There are maybe 20 of
these four bedroom homes. Some are the style seen here with the flat windows
on the second floor, and some have these funky triangular
windows - though that is the only difference between them. There is a tiny
courtyard beyond the front door which leads to a sliding door (of course) that
opens to the kitchen/dining area and a small hall that leads to the living room.
The backyards here are partially level, though the property does slope up making
only a portion of the lot useable. Upstairs are four very small bedrooms. Today,
if someone built a home with bedrooms this size no one would buy it. However,
this is an Eichler for people with a limited budget or no kids. These homes
also are dark since the back of the house gets no sun.
